No Threat To Public Security: Deputy Minister Of Defence Assures

COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Minister of Defence (Retired Major General) Aruna Jayasekara emphasizes that there is no uncertainty regarding public security.

He points out that prompt action is being taken regarding the reported incidents.

He said that the decision to immediately arrest all armed forces deserters comes as they have not formally resigned from their positions.

He added that this measure will facilitate the resolution of any issue related to uncertainty of public security. 

The Deputy Minister of Defence went on to note that the government is taking swift action to curb any risk to national and public security, and that efforts in this regard are successful so far. 

He added that the government has been able to arrest suspects related to various such incidents promptly, as never seen before. 

He assured the general public that there is no uncertainty with regards to public security in the country.
