Getaway Driver in Weligama Shooting Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident on Mahanaviya Road in Weligama, where one person was killed and another injured. 

The police reported that the suspect, who drove the getaway vehicle, was apprehended. He is a 29-year-old resident of the Beliatta area.

The vehicle used in the crime has also been taken into police custody. Previously, a male and a female suspect were arrested for aiding and abetting the shooting.

The incident occurred on the night of the 4th, when five individuals were targeted with a T-56 assault rifle and a pistol, resulting in one fatality and one injury.
