DMC to Implement Special Program to Tackle Disasters During Election

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Disaster Management Center (DMC) says that a special program is in place to address any emergencies that may arise during the election period.

Director of DMC, Pradeep Kodippili says that the Department of Meteorology, Department of Irrigation, National Building Research Organization, Tri-forces as well as Sri Lanka Police will be joining forces for this cause. 

Accordingly, this special center will be operational for 5 days, from the 12th to the 16th of November. 

Any disaster situation that occurs during the Parliamentary election period may be reported to the telephone number 117. 

In addition, the telephone numbers 0113 66 80 32, 
0113 66 80 87, 
0113 66 80 25 and
0113 66 80 26 are also operational for the general public to report any disaster-related incident to the special center established by the DMC.
