Voting Officially Concludes

COLOMBO (News 1st): The voting process of the 2024 parliamentary election, to elect representatives to the 10th Parliament of Sri Lanka, has officially concluded.

The voting, which will commenced 7am, will conclude at 4pm today.

The voting process was carried out at 13,421 polling centres across Sri Lanka.

17,140,354 people were eligible to cast their votes this year.

5,006 candidates representing recognized political parties are contesting the 2024 parliamentary election.

Meanwhile, 3,346 independent candidates are contesting the election.

Vote counting is now getting underway in the counting centres across Sri Lanka.
