NEC Confirms The Beginning of Postal Ballot Distribution After Delays Due To Legal Proceedings

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Posts says that the distribution of secured packets containing official postal ballot papers of the Colombo and Vanni districts, will begin today.

The Election Commission said that the distribution of the Colombo and Vanni District secured packets, which was on hold due to legal proceedings, were handed over to district returning officers yesterday.

The Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake said that the postal voting for the Colombo and Vanni districts will be take place on October 30, November 1, and November 4.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission announced that 738,002 postal voters are eligible for the 2024 General Election.
