COLOMBO (News1st): The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has officially commenced interviews for candidate selection for the upcoming general election.
SLPP General Secretary Attorney Sagara Kariyawasam emphasized a commitment to providing more opportunities for newcomers, youth, and women in this election.
He said that nomination papers will be submitted on October 9, 10, and 11.
General Secretary of the National People's Power Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe said that candidate list preparations will take place at the district level, with final approvals and nominations expected on October 10 and 11.
General Secretary of Samagi Janabalawegaya Ranjith Maddumabandara announced that their candidate list preparation is underway, incorporating both senior and new candidates.
Additionally, the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi's nomination committee is also convening today, with nomination processes ongoing at district secretariats until October 11.
The general elections are set for November 14.
