300 New PHIs to Be Appointed to Address Shortage

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Public Health Inspector's Union says there is a shortage of public health inspectors. 

Secretary Chamil Muthukuda said that despite ongoing recruitment efforts, the shortage remains a significant issue.

Currently, there is a shortfall of about 1,000 public health inspectors across the island. 

To address this, nearly 300 new appointments will be made in February.
