COLOMBO (News 1st); The Venezuelan Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, congratulated the leader and candidate of the National People's Power (NPP), Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who was elected president of Sri Lanka.
"From Venezuela we send a hug of solidarity to the president-elect and his people, reaffirming our desire to advance in relations of friendship and cooperation with mutual benefit," said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil in a brief message shared via Telegram.
With these words, the foreign minister ratified Caracas' willingness to maintain relations with Colombo, which have already existed for 37 years, aimed at "consolidating a frank bilateral cooperation based on development and mutual benefit," as the Venezuelan government has said in previous communications, reported International Media.
