COLOMBO (News 1st): Namal Rajapaksa, the presidential candidate of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, has stressed the importance of village development as a cornerstone for building the country's economy.
Rajapaksa criticized certain political parties and leaders for their lack of understanding and vision regarding national development.
"There are certain political parties in the country that do not have the understanding about a country's development. We also have political leaders with zero vision on development. Unfortunately, some political leaders did not understand the development we brought about. We had a program," Rajapaksa stated.
Rajapaksa highlighted the need to uplift the people, starting from the villages, to drive economic growth.
