Strike Action Disrupts Rail Services; Limited Office Trains to Operate Tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st); Railway Station Masters launched an immediate strike against the failure to provide solutions to their demands The Department of Railways has taken a decision to cancel today’s (July 9) scheduled night mail trains due to a trade union action planned by station masters and train controllers starting from midnight. Additionally, preparations are underway to operate limited office trains tomorrow (July 10) by deploying the relevant personnel. In response to the strike action, the Ministry of Transport has facilitated an alternative for passengers with railway season tickets. They can utilize their season tickets to travel in the buses provided by the Sri Lanka Transport Board on July 10th.
