AKD Calls for Restoration of People's Mandate

COLOMBO (News 1st); In his first address as president-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized the urgent need for a ruling based on the people's mandate to tackle the ongoing crisis facing the nation.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake highlighted concerns that this mandate has been misused within Parliament and other institutions, calling for a restoration of the people's voice as a critical step toward advancing the country.

He added that parliamentary elections should be held in accordance with the will of the people to move our nation forward.
