Ranil Better Than Putin, Biden, and Xi, says UNPs Vajira

COLOMBO (News 1st); United National Party (UNP) Chairman Vajira Abeywardana declared his party's intention to position Ranil Wickremesinghe for a historic presidential victory in the 2024 elections.

"When 2024 ends, we will turn a new chapter in Sri Lankan history," Abeywardana said, adding that Wickremesinghe would secure "the highest number of votes in recorded history." 

He further asserted that Wickremesinghe's leadership surpasses even world leaders like Joe Biden, Xi Jinping, and Vladimir Putin.

Abeywardana called for the UNP and other parties to refrain from contesting the election, suggesting a united front behind Wickremesinghe.

Abeywardana also said that only "insane" individuals would contest against Wickremesinghe.
