Somali Pirates Target Sri Lankan Vessel North of Seychelles

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities confirmed that a group of six fishermen have been abducted by Somali pirates in international waters north of Seychelles. 

The Sri Lankan Navy received information on Saturday (27) about the capture of the fishing vessel, which had set sail from Dikowita port recently.

Navy Spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya stated that based on preliminary reports, pirates intercepted the fishing vessel carrying six Sri Lankan fishermen in the Indian Ocean north of Seychelles
