Agbo the Elephant Receives Renewed Treatment

COLOMBO (News 1st); Agbo, the elephant who has endured months of illness and a debilitating gunshot wound, is receiving renewed medical attention after a temporary pause in treatment.

The dedicated team, led by Anuradhapura Zonal Wildlife Veterinarian Chandana Jayasinghe, anesthetized Agbo yesterday and commenced the next phase of his recovery journey.

While Agbo had shown signs of improvement during an earlier treatment period, progress stalled in recent weeks.

The location of the treatment, Tirappane Pudukkulam, highlights the collaborative effort between local wildlife officials and veterinarians in ensuring Agbo receives the necessary care close to his natural habitat.
