Technical Officer at Wattala PS Arrested Over Bribery Charges

 COLOMBO (News1st): A Technical Officer at the Welisara Sub-Office of the Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The arrest was made in connection with the acceptance of a Rs. 50,000 bribe in exchange for approving a building plan despite existing deficiencies.

The Commission carried out the raid based on a complaint lodged by a resident in Ragama.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
