Report called regarding the license of the bus involved in the Manampitiya accident

COLOMBO (News 1st); Measures have been taken to compile a report regarding the license of the private bus involved in the Manampitiya accident. 

Director General of the National Transport Commission Commander Nilan Miranda said the report was called by the Secretary of the Eastern Province.

He added that the relevant bus was not issued a license by the National Transport Commission.

Further investigations are underway.

10 people died when a bus plunged into a river in Manampitiya on Sunday night. 

41 others were injured and are receiving treatment at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.
