Govt. pledges to meet IMF agreement conditions in three Months: 25 of 62 conditions already met

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of State for Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, has announced that the government is committed to completing the conditions of the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) within the next three months.

Out of the 62 conditions initially made with the IMF, the minister says that 25 have already been successfully fulfilled. To oversee the progress, in this regard, a committee has been appointed by the Central Bank.

The minister emphasized that an action plan has been implemented with a defined timeline, and it is currently progressing as intended. He expressed confidence that by September 2023, significant strides will be made toward achieving the relevant goals set forth in the IMF agreement.
