COLOMBO(News1st) : Sri Lanka has reported a significant rise in complaints concerning the recruitment of Sri Lankans for the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
The number of complaints has reached 413, prompting a special unit within the Ministry of Defense to address the issue of human trafficking.
This dedicated unit will serve as a resource center, providing information and answering questions regarding human trafficking.
Sri Lankan citizens who suspect illegal recruitment practices are encouraged to report them by calling the hotline 011 2 44 11 46.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department is actively investigating allegations of retired Sri Lankan military personnel being funneled into the conflict.
The CID is committed to uncovering those responsible for this unlawful activity.
