Mirigama Triple Homicide: Suspect Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three people were found murdered in a house in Maladeniya, Mirigama.

This morning, during a routine mobile patrol, Police officers stopped a man riding a bicycle in Nalla. Upon searching the suspect, they discovered jewelry, credit cards, and Rs. 250,000 in his possession.

Authorities also conducted a search at the address linked to the recovered credit cards.

The search revealed the bodies of three people inside the residence.

All three victims are believed to have been strangled to death.

Investigations have identified the deceased as a family: a mother, father, and son.

Police said the deceased were 80, 78, and 42, respectively.

Police have arrested the suspect, who they believe is related to the homeowner.

The suspect is a resident of Bangadeniya, Chillaw.

Authorities suspect the suspect broke into the house, stole valuables, and then murdered the family.
