Three men arrested for auto theft

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested three men for stealing vehicles and re-selling them by changing the chassis and engine numbers.

The suspects were arrested from Kesbewa, Moragahahena, and Homagama.

During the arrests, eight three wheelers that were purchased with a lease found with fake chassis and engine numbers, and the shape of the three-wheelers had also been changed.

In addition, some equipment use to add the Chassis Number, and Vehicle Number Plates were seized from the possession of the suspects.

Interrogation of the suspects revealed that they had sold nine three-wheelers to various parts of the island by changing the chassis numbers and engine numbers.
