COLOMBO (News 1st); Renuka Perera has tendered his resignation as Chairman of the Milk Industry of Sri Lanka (MILCO), effective Monday (18).
He confirmed it by stating that he forwarded his resignation letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
This comes amid reports of a joint local-Indian initiative to privatize MILCO, a move Perera believes renders his position ineffective in driving the company forward.
His resignation letter reportedly cites this incompatibility as the primary reason for stepping down.
