COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka’s women’s cricket team has secured a place in the final of the Women’s Asian Games 2026.
Sri Lanka secured their place in the title clash with a win over Pakistan.
The match could not begin at the scheduled time as both teams were delayed in reaching the venue.
According to foreign media reports, the delay was attributed to difficulties in securing transportation.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 177 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of their allotted 20 overs.
Sri Lanka chased down the target in just 17.5 overs, losing only two wickets.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 83, while Harshani Perera contributed 42.
