Special discussion to decide on post of IGP

COLOMBO (News 1st); A special discussion is scheduled to be held on Monday (27) regarding the appointment of the new Inspector General of Police.

The meeting will be chaired by the President and the Minister of Public Security.

The final decision regarding the IGP's post will be reached on Monday (27).

IGP C.D. Wickramaratne retired on the 24th of November, while his official term was supposed to end on the 25th of March.

However, his service was extended by the President on four occasions.
