Train Operations Resume on Up Country Line After 11 Months

COLOMBO (News1st);Train operations on the Up Country Line between Peradeniya and Gampola, which were severely disrupted by Cyclone Ditwah, resumed today after a 11-month pause .

Railway Media Spokesperson Asanka Samarasinghe stated that the natural disaster had damaged 103 locations along the railway track between Rambukkana and Gampola. 

He further added that all damaged sections have now been fully repaired and restored to safe operating conditions for train services.
