Bus Fares to Remain Unchanged Despite Fuel Price Hike

COLOMBO (News1st);The National Transport Commission (NTC) states that bus fares will not be increased despite the recent rise in fuel prices. 

Its Chairman, Eng. P. A. Chandrapala, stated that the increase in the price of a liter of diesel during this month's fuel price revision was not high enough to warrant a bus fare adjustment.

Therefore, he confirmed that no revision will be made to bus fares.

Additionally, the government has already provided a subsidy of Rs. 4.1 billion for the months of October, November, and December.
