NBRO Issues Landslide Early Warnings Across 8 Districts

COLOMBO (News 1st): Following heavy rainfall across the country, the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide early warning alerts for several Divisional Secretariat Divisions across eight districts. 

The warnings have been classified under Level 1 (Yellow) and Level 2 (Amber). 

Based on the official notification, the affected areas are categorized as follows:

Level 2 - Amber:

Galle District: Nagoda and Neluwa DS Divisions and surrounding areas 

Kandy District: Pasbage Korale DS Division and surrounding areas 

Kegalle District: Dehiowita and Yatiyantota DS Divisions and surrounding areas 

Matara District: Pitabeddara DS Division and surrounding areas 

Nuwara Eliya District: Kotmale, Ambagamuwa, and Norwood DS Divisions and surrounding areas 

Ratnapura District: Ayagama, Pelmadulla, Ratnapura, Eheliyagoda DS Divisions and surrounding areas 


Level 1 - Yellow:

Colombo District: Seethawaka DS Division and surrounding areas 

Kalutara District: Palindanuwara and Bulathsinhala DS Divisions and surrounding areas 

Kandy District: Ganga Ihala Korale DS Division and surrounding areas 

Kegalle District: Deraniyagala DS Division and surrounding areas 

Matara District: Kotapola DS Division and surrounding areas 

Ratnapura District: Ratnapura, Kalawana, Kuruwita, and Elapatha DS Divisions and surrounding areas
