COLOMBO (News 1st): The Colombo High Court has ordered that the corruption case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against former Commander of Sri Lanka Navy Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa, be called for a pre-trial conference.
Colombo High Court Judge Ravindra Premaratne issued the order today after considering the facts and documents presented when the case was taken up.
Both accused, Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who are currently out on bail, appeared before the court today.
Wasantha Karannagoda and Yoshitha Rajapaksa are accused of causing financial losses to the government and committing an offence of corruption by arranging for Yoshitha Rajapaksa to attend a special training course at the Britannia Royal Naval College in the United Kingdom despite him not meeting the required qualifications.
