Four-Man Gang Escapes With Massive Cash Haul In Thalawathugoda

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have launched a wide-ranging investigation to track down a group of suspects who allegedly robbed a travel agency in Talawatugoda before making a dramatic getaway with millions of rupees in cash and a large quantity of gold jewellery.

According to Police, the robbery was carried out yesterday (1) afternoon by four individuals who arrived in a motor vehicle.

Investigators revealed that the suspects fled the premises after allegedly stealing Rs. 65 million in cash as well as 29 sovereigns of gold kept at the establishment.

Police said efforts are currently underway to identify the suspects and establish their movements before and after the robbery.

Investigators are analysing CCTV footage from the area to determine the identities of the suspects and trace the route used during their escape.
