Special Transport Services In Place for Candidates Facing A/L Examination

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special transport services will be in operation from today for candidates sitting for the GCE Advanced Level Examination.

Director General of the National Transport Commission, Dr Nilan Miranda, said around 1,700 Sisu Seriya buses have been deployed for this. 

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Transport Board says priority will be given to school bus services until the Advanced Level Examination concludes.

SLTB said officials have been instructed to ensure that school bus services operate continuously during the examination period.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Railways says it has taken steps to operate trains according to the regular timetable without cancellations throughout the examination period.

The Department also said railway track maintenance work scheduled for Saturdays during the examination period has been temporarily suspended.
