Suspect Arrested Over Counterfeit Currency Printing

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect printing counterfeit currency notes has been arrested on Kotte Road in Mirihana.

Police said that he was arrested based on information received by a team of officers from the Western Province South Crimes Division.

Seven counterfeit 5,000-rupee notes, six counterfeit 1,000-rupee notes, along with other currency notes and printers, were seized at the location.

The 53-year-old suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court.
