COLOMBO (News 1st): The Deputy Power Station Manager of the Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant is testifying today before the commission investigating Sri Lanka's coal transactions.
The commission stated that the current Secretary and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Energy testified before the coal commission on Monday.
Additionally, the Registrar of Companies also testified before the commission. Starting next week, the commission plans to conduct evidence hearings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake recently appointed this full-powered Presidential Commission, chaired by Supreme Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga, to investigate all coal transactions that have taken place in the country. The commission has received 28 complaints.
