NWSDB Announces 12 Hour Water Cut Across Colombo And Suburbs Today

COLOMBO (News 1st):The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced that water supply will be suspended for 12 hours today, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., across several areas in Colombo.

Consequently, water supply will be interrupted in Colombo 01 through 15, as well as in Battaramulla, Pelawatta, Hokandara, Koswatta, Thalawathugoda, Kotte, Rajagiriya, Mirihana, Madiwela, Nugegoda, Nawala, Kolonnawa, IDH, Kotikawatta, Angoda, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatta, Kaduwela, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, and Piliyandala.

Water supply will also be suspended in Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, and Soysapura.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said that this interruption is due to essential maintenance work being carried out on the power supply system at the Mulleriyawa sub-station, which requires a temporary power cut to the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
