Applications open for 2026 G.C.E. O/L Examination

COLOMBO (News 1st):The Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Kumari Liyanage, stated that applications for the 2026 G.C.E. O/L Examination can be submitted online until the 23rd of this month. All school applicants must submit their applications through their respective school principals, while private applicants must submit their applications individually.

When applying for the examination, private applicants must use their National Identity Card (NIC). The Department of Examinations noted that private applicants who do not possess an NIC must first register using the NIC of their parent or guardian before submitting their applications.

Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage further stated that applicants should visit www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic, carefully read the provided instructions, and submit their applications accurately in accordance with them. The Department of Examinations also mentioned that a printed copy of the application should be downloaded and kept safely in one's possession to be produced if required in the future.

The Commissioner General added that the usernames and passwords required for submitting the applications of school candidates have already been provided to the school heads. Furthermore, the Department of Examinations emphasized that applications will not be accepted after 12:00 midnight on the 23rd, and the deadline for accepting applications will not be extended under any circumstances.
