2025 GCE O/L Results to Be Released Next Week

COLOMBO (News 1st) – Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Madhura Seneviratne has announced that the results of the 2025 General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level Examination will be released in the coming week. 

The Deputy Minister says that the process of updating candidates' information is currently in its final stage.

The 2025 GCE Ordinary Level Examination was held from February 17 to 26, 2026 with a total of 451,463 candidates sitting for the examination.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has issued a notice regarding the completion of syllabi for the 2026 GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations.

Through the notice, Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa informed principals of all government and government-approved private schools, along with senior education officials, that steps should be taken if there are delays in completing the prescribed syllabi at any school, through prior planning and, if necessary, by allocating additional time to ensure the syllabi are fully covered.

The Ministry further emphasized that the 2026 GCE O/L and A/L examinations will be conducted on their scheduled dates in accordance with the academic calendar.

Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa stated that schools must ensure the relevant syllabi are fully completed and that students are prepared for the examinations.
