Showers Expected in Several Provinces; Strong Winds Forecast by MET Department

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Meteorology says showers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few places in Uva Province and the Ampara and Batticaloa districts may experience showers or thundershowers during the afternoon hours.

Fairly strong winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour at times over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North Central, North Western, and Southern provinces, and the Trincomalee District can also be expected. 

Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant of possible hazards due to adverse weather conditions.
