COLOMBO (News 1st) - The IMF Executive Board Will Meet Today to Decide On Sri Lanka’s Combined Reviews, and if approved will unlock USD 700 Mn in funding for the island.
The International Monetary Fund has fixed today, 27 May 2026, for its Executive Board to decide on the Fifth and Sixth reviews of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.
This is a move that could unlock roughly USD 700 million in much-needed financing.
If the Board approves both reviews, Sri Lanka will become eligible to draw the sixth and seventh tranches under the IMF arrangement.
