30th May to Be Declared Vesak Poya

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Cabinet Spokesperson announced today that the Mahanayake Theros have requested that May 30 be declared a Vesak Poya Day.
In line with the proposed observances, Vesak Week is to be declared from May 27 to June 2.
Meanwhile, May 31, which falls on a Sunday, has been declared the public holiday following Vesak, according to the Cabinet Spokesperson.
