Three Arrested Over Illegal Fuel Possession in Separate Raids

COLOMBO (News 1st): Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested in three separate locations for the illegal possession of fuel without valid permits, according to police reports.

In the first incident, police conducted a raid in the Madavan Road area of Kalmunai, where they apprehended a 48-year-old suspect. Authorities discovered a massive stockpile of 4,620 liters of diesel in the suspect's possession.

Meanwhile, a female suspect was arrested at Vethalawa Junction in Udadumbara for possessing 30 liters of petrol without a license. The police identified the woman as a 47-year-old resident of the Medamahanuwara area.

In a third detection, another suspect was taken into custody in the Ihala Bomiriya area of Nawagamuwa. The 56-year-old resident of Kaduwela was found with a mixed cache of fuel, including 60 liters of diesel, 30 liters of petrol, and 40 liters of kerosene.
