Chairman of Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Chairman of the Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of corruption.
Allegations against the chairman says that he had unlawfully approved a construction plan on state-owned land and provided undue advantage to the relevant applicant.
The Chairman is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.
