21 Foreigners Arrested in Maradana Over Visa Violations

COLOMBO (News1st): Twenty-one foreign nationals were arrested during a joint raid carried out near Technical Junction in Maradana.

The operation was carried out collaboratively by the Police Central Crime Investigation Bureau, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

The arrested group comprises 12 Chinese, 6 Bangladeshi, and 3 Indian nationals. 

According to the police, the suspects were taken into custody while unlawfully residing inside a building without valid visas.

They are scheduled to be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court today.
