SriLankan Airlines Cancels Multiple Middle East Flights Amid Airspace Closures

COLOMBO (News 1st); SriLankan Airlines has announced the cancellation of several scheduled flights today due to the continued closure of airspace in certain parts of the Middle East.

The airline said that the disruptions are a result of ongoing airspace restrictions across parts of the region, which have affected commercial flight operations.

The following flights scheduled for today have been cancelled:

UL231 – Colombo to Dubai

UL232 – Dubai to Colombo

UL225 – Colombo to Dubai

UL226 – Dubai to Colombo

UL217 – Colombo to Doha

UL218 – Doha to Colombo

UL253 – Colombo to Dammam

UL254 – Dammam to Colombo

UL265 – Colombo to Riyadh

UL266 – Riyadh to Colombo

UL229 – Colombo to Kuwait

UL230 – Kuwait to Colombo

SriLankan Airlines said the cancellations have been implemented in the interest of passenger safety and wellbeing, and expressed sincere appreciation for passengers’ understanding and patience during this period of disruption.
