COLOMBO (News 1st) - Litro Gas Lanka Ltd says it is taking the necessary steps to release a new stock of LP Gas cylinders to the market by the 12th of next month.
Its Chairman, Channa Gunawardena, stated that this move aims to minimise the inconvenience currently faced by consumers.
Litro currently releases 1,200 metric tonnes of LP gas to the market daily.
Yesterday, the company increased that amount to 1,700 metric tonnes as part of an accelerated supply operation.
An additional 500 metric tonnes is scheduled to be released today and tomorrow as part of the extended supply plan.
LAUGFS Gas PLC says a vessel carrying 3,500 metric tonnes of LP gas is expected to berth on the 27th of this month.
LAUGFS Chief Executive Officer Nalintha Kurukulasuriya said loading operations for this shipment are already underway in the Maldives.
He added that four more vessels have been ordered.
