Five Arrested With Boat Over Drug Suspicion

COLOMBO(News 1st); Five people and a fishing boat were arrested in the Matara Fort area on suspicion of transporting drugs.

The Police Narcotics Bureau said the fishing boat was taken into custody based on information that it was carrying the drug, “ice” (crystal methamphetamine).

The suspects were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday and were later released on bail.
