COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have frozen Rs. 30 million worth of assets belonging to a drug trafficker based in Beliatta, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) confirmed today.
According to the CID, the properties had been maintained under the trafficker’s wife’s name, despite being linked directly to his illicit operations.
The frozen assets include a plot of land and a two-storey house located along the Tangalle–Beliatta Road.
The CID stated that the suspect is wanted in connection with multiple serious offences, including possession of heroin and cannabis, possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition, and attempted murder or causing grievous injuries.
The drug trafficker has reportedly fled the area and remains at large.
