COLOMBO (News 1st); The further hearing of the case filed against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and two others has been scheduled for March 14.
The case has been filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, accusing the defendants of committing offences related to corruption.
The matter was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Mohammed Mihail.
The charges relate to the alleged misuse of nearly Rs. 1 million from the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation during the 2015 Presidential Election, by purchasing 600 GI pipes for political activities, thereby causing a financial loss to the state.
The defendants named in the indictment are former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Wimal Rubasinghe, and former Director General Chandrapala Liyanage.
