Satyagraha Called Off: President to Review Teacher Service Recruitment for Development Officers

COLOMBO (News1st); The union of Development Officers has decided to call off the satyagraha they launched after holding discussions with the President.

They had engaged in a nine-day satyagraha demanding that Development Officers who have been teaching in schools for the past seven years be immediately absorbed into the teacher service without the requirement of a competitive examination.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake summoned the Development Officers engaged in the satyagraha and reviewed their issues and demands.
