PM Harini Amarasuriya Launches 2026 Grade One National Education Reforms

COLOMBO (News1st): The national ceremony to inaugurate education reforms for Grade One Students alongside the commencement of Grade One classes for the year 2026 was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya today.
The event took place at Gunasekara Vidyalaya in Athurugiriya.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Vocational Education Nalin Hewage, Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nalaka Kaluwewa, teachers, students, and parents.
During the event, Prime Minister Dr. Amarasuriya symbolically distributed school uniforms provided by the Chinese Government to students of the school.
Meanwhile, addressing the event, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said that new education reforms for Grade Six will commence in the year 2027.
