COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya embarked on an official tour to Switzerland this morning, marking a significant diplomatic and economic engagement for Sri Lanka as she attends the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The high-profile global summit will take place from today until January 23 in Davos–Klosters, bringing together more than 3,000 world leaders, including heads of state, CEOs of major multinational corporations, leading policymakers, and pioneers in technological innovation.

This year’s Forum is themed “A Spirit of Dialogue”, reflecting a renewed global emphasis on cooperation, conflict resolution, and collective economic strategy amid rapidly shifting geopolitical and technological landscapes.

According to officials, Prime Minister Amarasuriya is scheduled to participate in several key sessions focused on global economic resilience, sustainable development, and the role of emerging economies in shaping the next decade of growth.
