Man Injured In Suspected Trap Gun Shooting in Dambana

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 40-year-old resident of the Dambana Estate has been hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a shooting incident reported from the area, police confirmed today.

According to investigators, the man was injured under circumstances that suggest the use of a homemade trap gun, a crude firearm often used in rural areas for hunting.

Police said the shooting is believed to have occurred while two individuals had gone hunting, during which the injured man was struck by gunfire. 

Police further stated that no suspects have been identified so far, and the investigation is ongoing to determine responsibility.
