Special Circular Issued for Public Officials During Ramadan Season

COLOMBO (News1st): A special circular has been issued for public officials to engage in religious observances during the Ramadan season.

The circular was issued under the signature of Aloka Bandara, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

The Ramadan season will be observed from February 19 to March 21.

According to the circular, work shifts should be arranged to allow Islamic devotees to conduct their religious rites during the following time slots:

from 3:30 AM to 6:00 AM, 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM, 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Additionally, the circular instructs that festival advances be granted to eligible employees 14 days prior to the end of the Ramadan season.
